Kirsten Jet Wave Solder Machine

Problem

When we bought this machine the RIFA paper based capacitors were all showing signs of cracking. Some of the electrolytic capacitors had leaked.

Diagnosis

The main control box houses several main control circuits, in a very nicely designed modular manner. The unit contains several phase angle controllers for heater power control and for the solder wave pump. Each phase angle controller has significant noise filtering components and the RIFA safety capacitors were all showing signs of cracking.

Solution

Having restored the control box to original condition it is now in regular use for manufacturing PCBs.
